The Biologa Danell "Architect" shielded desk lamp provides protection from electric and magnetic fields.

It also combines sleek design with ease of use (long rotating arm, clear reading).

All Danell Biologa shielded lamps are made from healthy, environmentally-friendly materials and, above all, are free from electrical pollution.

• The cable used is shielded: the 3 wires (phase + neutral + earth) are surrounded by a metal foil which is earthed to eliminate the electric field.
• The 3 wires are twisted 15 times per metre to attenuate the magnetic field.
• The 3-pole plug is shielded. The fact that it is earthed also means that you can't connect it the wrong way round.
• The switch is bipolar (simultaneously cuts off phase and neutral).
• A shielding coil is screwed onto each bulb to eliminate any remaining electric fields emitted by the bulb.

Electric fields affect our nervous, endocrine and immune systems. They affect the quality of your sleep and your ability to recover, and generate stress, nervousness and difficulty concentrating. They also upset the acid-base balance by acidifying our bodies. You can eliminate these harmful effects by opting for a shielded lamp!

Warning! To suppress electric fields, this shielded lamp must be plugged into an earthed wall socket or power strip! 

Comparative shielding effect (valid for all Biologa Danell shielded luminaires)

An unshielded luminaire (protection class 2) with an unshielded supply cable produces an alternating electric field of 100.0 to 160.0 V/m (guideline value recommended by Habitat Biology: 10 V/m).

The shielded luminaire (protection class 1) with an appropriate design only generates an alternating electric field of between 0.4 and 0.6 V/m.
The test is carried out in accordance with the specifications, frequency bands and measuring distances of the recognised screen standards (for low-radiation screens and monitors): TCO'99, Volume I (MPR II) and DIN EN 50279 (measuring distance 30 cm).
