Steel-Gray YShield fabric - High and low frequency protection

Steel-Gray YShield protective fabric is an opaque fabric made from a blend of cotton, polyester and stainless steel, designed for making double curtains, bedspreads and bed linen (sheets, plaids, sleeping bags, etc.).

A mixed-use fabric, it provides protection against high-frequency radiation from base stations, radio waves and other sources. 5G, DECT cordless phones, WiFi, Wimax, radar, etc.), with 50 dB attenuation at 1 GHz, while eliminating 50 Hz electric fields when the fabric is earthed.

As this fabric can be perceived as a little rough, we recommend that if you have sensitive skin, you use it as an overlay or place it under the fitted sheet.

Very good resistance to washing (no discolouration or fading), easy to use.

Earthing

As this fabric is conductive, it can be earthed to protect against low-frequency electric fields.

Before earthing, check that the socket you want to use is earthed! (with a Peakmeter PM6860DR earth leakage tester or an earth meter such as Catohm DT300, Tohm-E or 9052SI).

Variant no. 1 | Exclusive use of YShield earthing accessories 

• an earthing platewhich you attach to the fabric: either a GCM magnetic earthing platea GCS screw-on earthing plate
• a earthing cable GL. 5 different lengths are available: 20 cm, 1 metre, 2 metres, 5 metres or 10 metres. It connects the earth plug to the earth plate.
• a grounding plug GPEplug into your earthed wall socket

Variant no. 2 | Use of a YShield earthing plate and earthing cable with eyelet and socket including 100 KOhms resistance 

• an earthing platewhich you attach to the fabric: either a GCM magnetic earthing platea GCS screw-on earthing plate
• an earthing cable with eyelet and socket including 100 KOhms resistance Connect the end with the round eyelet to the YShield earthing plate of your choice, and the other end with the socket to the earth terminal of your wall socket. 

How do I order this fabric?

This fabric is sold by the linear metre. The number of linear metres required should be entered in the Quantity box above.
For example, if you want to order 3 metres of fabric, enter: Quantity: 3.
You will then receive a 3 metre long piece of fabric in one piece.
If you require cut-outs (for example, once for 1 metre and once for 2 metres in the case of our 3 metre lengths, you can request this later in your order, in the Comments section about your order). 
Note: we only make cuts in the length of the fabric, to make it easier for you to use the fabric when you receive it. We don't cut widthways, and we don't make small cuts!

Maintenance

Washing instructions: wash up to 60°C max. Use very little detergent! We recommend that you use Texcare Yshield liquid detergent or the Texcare YShield washing powder to preserve the fabric and armour fibres

Do not bleach, do not dry clean

For allergy sufferers: all new fabrics have a smell! Wash before use.

Ready for 5G

Some companies offer "special" 5G shielding products. This product protects against 5G frequencies even without additional advertising! In all the attenuation diagrams, you will find two grey bars with the 5G frequency spectra FR1 (600 MHz - 6 GHz) and FR2 (24 GHz - 40 GHz).

When calculating the width of your curtain, don't forget the gathers! Depending on the gathers you want, multiply the width of the window by 1.5 or 1.7.

Three types of finish are possible: either a ruflette, wide flaps in the size you want, or a tunnel hem.
A plumb line is systematically placed at the bottom of the curtain for better fall.

Fabrics are cut to order and cannot be returned or exchanged.
